1. Gerry begint het draadje.
After the early bricks but before smartphones, there was a stretch where phone design went absolutely catshit bananas (1/?) pic.twitter.com/QWUF6K8dVF

2. Herken jij ‘m nog?
This thing was ideal for if you had to take photos of Russian documents while undercover in Moscow, also yes that is a tag on it like it’s a t-shirt pic.twitter.com/XGc302ubGk

3. Ojaaaa!
“People don’t like phones that flip anymore”
“OK… what if instead of it flipping, it PIVOTED”
“FUCK YEAH” pic.twitter.com/P5flEtK1Il

I call this one the Shyamalan because of the unnecessary twist pic.twitter.com/QkZZsYOj5L

5. Wie had deze ook?
The LG Chocolate, my ultimate desire. The girl that sat next to me on the bus had one and everyday we’d play a garage band type app that let you make songs & ringtone on the phone! pic.twitter.com/10AeMCYsmm

You don’t know rugged if you didn’t own a Nokia 5210. The things me and my friends put this thing though: left it at the bottom of a pool, played rugby with, drove a car over it (quickly).
It never broke because of the genius design. pic.twitter.com/NA1qsW79iu

I had numerous Nokia phones but the 3200 was a tiny triumph plus I had the Shrek insert for added coolness lol pic.twitter.com/H2rBesN1J6

It was a lovely solidly built phone, it was the last non iPhone I had. It had that mirror screen and was competing in the ‘girly phone’ market with the Nokia 7373. Before that I had the gorgeous shocking pink Motorola Razr pic.twitter.com/hnjpQ6pL4W

9. Hehehe.
Only real visionaries like Kelly Rowland got to road test that one

10. Is wel zo.
The iPhone was a gamechanger in lots of ways but mainly in establishing a common de facto touchscreen design

Not forgetting the Nokia 5800 Express that had the most unresponsive touch screen in 2010…. Stylus tho pic.twitter.com/GX6Lr0iwwJ

Nokia 6680 ; it had a forward facing camera *and* ran Symbian. A big pretty screen that was nonetheless not a touchscreen. pic.twitter.com/qKAud0O6Lt

13. VET onhandig.
I had this thing. A phone that only worked with the headset. If the headset wasn’t plugged in you couldn’t answer or make a call. pic.twitter.com/uOX3t797JB

14. Dit was pas een briljante functie.
The pinnacle for me was the Siemens CL75 ‘poppy’ phone. Nothing unusual about the design for this lil stone of a flip-phone, BUT
When you pressed a DEDICATED button on this femmest of phones, it turned off the backlight for you so you could… use the screen as a mirror. pic.twitter.com/DXNrfF67f9— Gonbezerk (@Gonbezerk) November 14, 2022
15. Wie niet?!
Can’t say anything. I had this for years. pic.twitter.com/sLJBl2JwDS
